Embroidery Contest 2005
Entry # 43
|
This participant sent in her Contest entry, chrismons, and she
also described how she made them. We left this description, because it
might be helpful for other customers. "Traditionally, crismons are
made mainly of gold and white. These designs,Christian
Symbols redwork set, are stitched out on a layer of stabilizer, felt,
covered with a layer of cream organza, ( white does not sparkle as well
against white felt, tends to blend in too well) for extra sparkle.
The thread was a gold metallic, ( Isocord and maderia) of course.
I used a basic coaster design for the edging, which also enabled
me to cover the back with a layer of felt and organza, so the back is as
pretty as the front. I also slipped in a hanger ( metallic cording) when
stitching the outline of the coaster. A bow was metallic ribbon added after
completion."
The participant stitched these designs out on a Designer 1 machine |
