Embroidery Contest 2006
Entry # 8
|
| This participant has used several designs from the Dog
Breeds section to make a birthday gift to a friend. |
| "I was so excited with the results of these stitchouts that I had to
share them! A very dear friend has each one of these dogs. When I found
the dog breeds in photo stitch on your site I knew right away I had to
do these for his birthday. I used the chow,
cocker,
long
haired chihuahau and bulldog.
I did have to change the colors on two of them so they would match his
dogs in color. I was totally thrilled with the results. I used the
Janome Memory Craft 300E to stitch these out. As far as placement,
I just put a piece of silk under the frame and put a template of each of
the designs down to see how I liked them. I did put a piece of fusible
woven cotton on the back of the silk for stability and used tear away stabilizer
under that. I confess that I did not use anything on the top of my work
as I felt the finish on the silk was strong enough. As a finish for the
photo I decided on the burgundy and gold matting (which I did myself since
it costs a small fortune to have it done commercially). Please give your
designer a big "thumbs up" for me for creating the wonderful designs for
me to create this well loved birthday gift." |
