| This customer sent in photos of her project entitled "Meeting of the
Flowers". She writes:
"The cutwork was done with your cutwork poppy design, 'Poppy
Lace'.
The project was stitched on a Brother PR-600 II machine.
I was inspired by traditional Hungarian needlework to design a dress
that combined cutwork and embroidery. The 3 tiered skirt and cape like
collar each consist of 2 layers of silk charmeuse, one in red and one in
black. The charmeuse is edged in cutwork. The cutwork motifs were combined
and edited in software to fit my large hoop and then embroidered using
water soluble stabilizer. After the edges were embroidered, floral motifs
were embroidered around each tier of the upper skirt and collar. All of
the embroidery has also been backed with silk organza to provide extra
body and strength for the silk charmeuse. The pattern pieces were then cut
out and assembled into the dress." |
