This project shows a light spring sweater decorated with machine
embroidery designs in the cross stitch technique. We used the designs from
the Decorative
Fan Set.
|
|
|
You will need light-weight cut-away stabilizer, water soluble
stabilizer and either rayon or polyester 40-weight embroidery threads.
|
| Important Note: Always make a test stitch-out of the design.
For this project, test it on a piece of jersy (use an old sweater). You
might need to make several test stitch-outs before you will find the correct
threads and machine settings for the job. |
|
| Step One: Place the light cut-away stabilizer under the fabric
and water soluble stabilizer on top of the fabric. Hoop. Make the embroidery. |
|
| Step Two: Remove the finished embroidery from the hoop, cut
away the excess stabilizers. Place the sweater into a bowl with warm water,
change water several times until you wash away all the residue of watersoluble
stabilizer. |
| Step Three: Spread flat on a towel and leave to air dry. |
|
The project is ready! Enjoy!
