Cutwork Table-Top
|
Lace designs are widely used for embellishing all sorts of bed-
and tableware. You can make this beautiful table top for festive occasions.
Several different designs are combined here: Square
Lace Insert, Lace
Set III and Corner
Lace.
|
|
| You will need tightly woven fabric colored white, off-white or cream.
With a removable marker draw a dotted line to mark a square, measuring
24" x 24". Do not cut it out! |
| Step One: Find the center of the square and mark it with the
removable marker. Hoop the fabric (without stabilizer) so that the center
of the fabric is in the center of the hoop. Embroider the design Square
Lace Insert. |
|
| Step Two: Embroider the third design from Lace
Set III 3" away from the embroidered square. Repeat it 4 times opposite
every side. |
|
| Step Three: Now embroider the corners of the fabric, with the
design Corner
Lace. It should be around 1 1/2" from the edge |
|
| Step Four: Finish the edges of the table top. If your machine
cannot stitch borders itself, you can choose one from the Lace
Border Set III. Press the embroidery. Start cutting out fabric where
necessary to make cutwork. Use sharp-pointed scissors. Make sure not to
cut the threads of the embroidery. When you are finished cutting, press
the table-top once more. It is ready! |
