For this table topper we used the Crochet
Pineapple Doily II machine embroidery design, which is a crochet-style
FSL design.
You will need water-soluble Vilene stabilizer and 50- or 60-weight
cotton embroidery threads of three colors - pale blue, light sky blue and
bright sky blue. For this doily we used Signature quilting thread. The
finished size of our table topper is about 30" in diameter.
Step Two: For our table topper, the design needs to be embroidered
thirty seven times.
Pale blue - 7 times
Light sky blue - 12 times
Bright sky blue - 18 times
Wash the stabilizer away and spread on an even surface to air dry. Press
if needed.
Step Three: Lay out the ready crochet parts on your table: pale
blue parts in the center and the first row around the center. The second
row around the center is formed by twelve light sky blue parts; and the
last, third, row is formed by the eighteen bright blue parts.
Thread both the needle and the bobbin with the same thread that you
used for the embroidery and, using a zig-zag, stitch together the parts.
For bordering colors, use the darker thread.
