Using the Poppy Flower Appliqué, you can make this remarkable, stylish T-shirt in just a few easy steps.
For this project, you will need a T-shirt, green fabric for leaves, another fabric for the flower (we used red) and a scrap of organza for the center of the flower.
Step One: With the help of a template, find choose where you want the design to go on the T-shirt.
Step Two: Hoop the T-shirt with cut-away mesh stabilizer. Thread the needle with green thread. Start embroidering. The machine will embroider an outline of the leaves and stop. Place a piece of green fabric over the outline, and start the machine. It will embroider the outline and the veins of the leaves and stop.
With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the excess fabric as close to the outline as possible. Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery of the leaves.
Step Three: Change to red thread. Cover the central part of the embroidery with a piece of red fabric. Return the hoop into the machine. The machine will make an outline of the flower and stop.
Cut away the excess fabric as close to the outline as possible.
Return the hoop into the machine and start embroidering. The machine will embroider the flower.
Step Four: Thread the needle with a black thread. Place a scrap of organza (or any sheer fabric that frays easily) in the center of the flower. Return the hoop to the machine.
The machine will embroider the center of the flower. Unravel the edges of the organza.
