FSL Battenberg Floral Set

The FSL Battenberg Floral Set consists of three designs for computerised embroidery machines.
The FSL Battenberg Floral Set is embroidered in the same way as our crochet-style freestandng lace.
You will find detailed intructions on how to embroider crochet-style FSL at http://www.advanced-embroidery-designs.com/projects2/guide_fsl_crochet.html
Most Importantly: ALWAYS make a test stitch-out of the design. This helps you to select the threads, needles, stabilizers and settings of your machine correctly.
Some points to remember from the General Guidelines:
Use Vilene water soluble stabilizer;
Use the same COTTON thread for the needle and bobbin.
DO NOT embroider several designs in one hoop.
The files from the set are called A, B and C. File A is an insert, file B is the edge lace and file C is to a corner.
Step One: Make a test stitch-out of the designs. If you are satisfied with the results, embroider the files as many times as you need.

The finished size of our doily is about 13 1/2" x 13 1/2" (35 cm x 35 cm). To make this doily, we embroidered file A once, file B four times and file C four times.

Use 2 layers of Vilene-type water-soluble stabilizer. Use the same cotton thread for both the needle and bobbin.
Rinse the stabilizer and leave to air dry.
Step Two: Press all parts with steam. On your working table, lay out the designs on a squareof fabric (it should measure about 15" x 15") as shown on the picture below. Pin them in place.
Step Three:  Using the short, but not dense zig-zag, topstitch the lace to the fabric along the the inner edge.

Note: To attach the lace to the fabric use fine polyester of a matching color.

With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the excess fabric.
Return to your machine, and using short and dense zig-zag stitch along the inner edge of the lace.
Step Four: Mark the center of the doily. Pin the insert there. Repeat the procedure described in Step Three.
The designs from the set are good for embellishing angular table linen, curtains, bed linen and clothes.
We hope that you liked our idea and will come up with many of your own.
