Jeans with Leaves Embroidery
| The goal of this quick project was to mend and decorate a pair of blue
jeans. We used designs from the FSL
Autumn Leaves Set. |
|
The pair of jeans we used was slightly worn but still quite serviceable,
except for a few small holes, like the one in the photo below.
We hooped the area we wanted to mend with light-weight cut-away mesh
and embroidered one of the leaves from the FSL
Autumn Leaves Set. over the hole.
We used a #14 needle and polyester embroidery threads. |
|
| Instead of fall colors, as recommended for the design, we used summer
green. |
|
| We embroidered the same leaf on the back of the jeans. We were worried
that several layers of denim in the pocket area would be a challenge for
the machine, but the machine managed it without a hitch! |
|
| To balance out the leaf at the top, we decidedto decorate the pant
leg. However, it's impossible to make an embroidery on a pant leg without
ripping the seam. We didn't want to do this, so instead we decided to attach
an FSL leaf. The result looks original and somewhat whimsical. |
|
| We hope that you liked our idea and will come up with many of your
own. |
