The designs from the Snowflake
Applique for Sheer Fabrics are digitized specially for organza, organdy,
and chiffon fabrics. However the designs can be used with other types of
light- to medium-weight fabrics as well.
With these designs you can make beautiful dress-scarves, blouses and
dresses, or unique home decorating items such as table runners, table toppers,
curtains and so on.
This photo features a chiffon scarf with organza applique.
Step One: Hoop the base fabric with watersoluble stabilizer.
Any type of light-to medium weight watersoluble stabilizer can be used.
As a base fabric, we used polyester chiffon.
Upload the design into your machine. Use the same thread for all
steps of the embroidery. Use bobbin thread of the same color.
Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Step Two: With a pair of sharp double-curved sccissors, neatly
cut away the fabric inside the outline close to the stitches. Be careful
not to cut through the stitches or through the stabilizer.
Step Three: Return the hoop to the machine. Cover the outline
with a piece of organza.
Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and
stop.
Step Four: With a pair of sharp double-curved sccissors, neatly
cut away the excess fabric outside the outline close to the stitches. Be
careful not to cut through the stitches or through the base fabric with
the stabilizer.
Step Five: Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery.
We used these designs for another project: seasonal curtains for our
entrance room.
You can read about this project in the Christmas Season Organza Curtains.
