The Fashion Belt & Bracelet Set consists of 2 designs which can be embroidered and assembled into various belts and matching bracelets. This step-by-step guide explains how.
These are great for accessorizing. The thread colors and fabric are easy to customize to match any outfit.
The size of the larger design is 2" x 7" (50 mm x 179 mm), the size of the smaller design is 1.7" x 2.6" (44 mm x 67 mm).
You will need :
Embroidery:
Both parts are embroidered in the same way.
Step One: Upload the files into the machine. Hoop the watersoluble mesh. Start the machine. The first colors will embroider the oval outline.
Step Two: Cover the outline with a piece of polyester felt, or any other dense fabric which can be used as backing. Start the machine. It will embroider the same outline on the fabric.
Step Three: With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the felt as close to the stitches as possible. Take care not to cut through the stitches.
Step Four: Cover the felt with a piece of top fabric. Return the hoop to the machine and start it. The next color will embroider the oval over the top fabric.
Step Five: With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the fabric around the outline. Take care not to cut through the stitches.
Step Six: Return the hoop to the machine and start it. It will finish the embroidery.
Step Seven: Cut away the stabilizer around the stitch-out. Carefully wash away the remaining stabilizer. Lay out to air dry.
Assembly:
Calculate or measure the length of your finished belt and decide which parts and how many you'll need. Embroider as many pieces as you need.
Sew on the clasps.
Fasten all clasps to finish the belt!
The Bracelet
The longer part can serve as a bracelet.
You can decorate the belt and/or bracelet as you like to get a unique, one of a kind, piece of jewelry.
Here the designer shows how she decorated her bracelet using silk ribbon, seed beads and larger beads. The smaller part can be turned into a hairpin or brooche.
