This tutorial shows you how to make a Lily of the Valley tabletopper or wall quilt. You will learn to piece the center blocks, add borders, embroider the flowers and stems, and finish with quilting. The finished piece measures about 24 inches square and works well on a small table or hung on a wall.
We used the designs from the Lily of the Valley Set. The finished size of the quilt is about 25 1/2" x 25 1/2".

Assembly:
| Note: seam allowance is 1/4". Press the seam immediately after you make it. |
| Four-Patch Blocks |
Sew the 8 green and 8 blue squares in pairs.

| Sew the strips into 4-patch blocks. You'll get 4 of them. |

| Flying Geese Blocks: |
Using the remaining green squares and 8 blue strips, position a 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" strip on your working table, face up. Position one of the 2 1/2" squares, face down, on the left of the rectangle. Align the sides. With a thin graphic pencil, draw a diagonal to connect the upper right corner and the lower left corner. |

Stitch along the diagonal. Cut the excess fabric, leaving 1/4" seam allowance. Unfold the square and press. |
| Repeat for the other side of the strip. |
| Sew the flying geese into 4 square blocks, 2 geese per block. |
| The Central Part: |
| Sew the 2 of the flying geese blocks to the left and right edges of the 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" green square. |
| Sew the 4-patch blocks to the left and right edges of the remaining geese blocks. Make sure the green square of the 4-patch blocks is attached to the base of the geese as shown in the picture below: |
| Sew all three rows together as shown in the picture below: |
| Borders: |
Sew the pale green 6" x 12 1/2" strips to the left and right edges of the central part. Then sew the pale green 6" x 23" strips to the upper and lower edges. |
Sew the bright blue 1" x 23" strips to the left and right edges of the working piece. Then sew the remaining bright blue strips to the upper and lower edges of the working piece. |
Sew the bright green 2" x 24" strips to the left and right edges of the working piece. Then sew the remaining bright green strips to the upper and lower edges of the working piece. |
| Embroidery: |
On the pale green borders, using the paper print-outs or the test stitch-outs of the designs, make a layout of the picture you are going to embroider. Pin them to the fabric. Alternatively, you can cut out paper rectangles the size of the embroidery and mark them with the number of the design from the set. Upload the files from the Lily of the Valley Set to the embroidery machine. Select threads. Stabilize the fabric. Hoop tightly and embroider the designs one by one.

Quilting and Finishing
Now place the backing on a flat surface (table) face down. Cover with batting. Spread your working piece over it.
Pin all layers together. We quilted in a free-motion style all over the working piece. Start from the central part, then proceed to the borders.
| On the first border, echo-quilt the embroidery first. |
Press with steam. Square the piece. All angles should be 90 degrees and opposite sides of the same length. Finish the raw edges with the binding. |

| Have fun! |
