| Please read the General Guidelines
on Embroidering our FSL designs first. |
Some points to remember from the General Guidelines:
Use Vilene water soluble stabilizer;
Use the same thread for the upper and bobbin to get two-sided embroidery.
DO NOT embroider several designs in one hoop. |
| Our Acorn
FSL Table Set offers you a large number of possibilities. Using the
designs from the set, you can make a variety of doilies, napkins, baskets,
bowls and vases. Here are instructions on how to make just some table pieces. |
|
| Step One: Along with the embroidery files, you will get the
color card, which will help you to select the threads, and also sort out
the many parts of the project.
To make the square bowl, you'll have to embroider four panels. The bowl
panel is the first in the picture.
Use 2 layers of Vilene-type water-soluble stabilizer; use the same thread
for both the needle and bobbin to get 2-sided embroidery.
Rinse the stabilizer and leave to air dry. Press all parts with steam. |
|
| Step Two: To make the bottom, you'll need a 7" x 7" piece
of jute and 8" x 8" piece of linen or cotton. Place the jute piece on the
linen piece, fold the linen edges over the jute and stitch in place. Now
you have all the parts ready for assembling. |
|
| Step Three: Place the first panel over one of the sides of the
square, align the edges and zigzag over the edges, as shown in the picture
below. Unfold. Repeat with the remaining panels. Use the invisible thread. |
|
| Insert satin ribbons in the corner loops and lace the corners. |
|
|
The bowl is ready.
|
|
| To make the decoration for the glass, embroider the part which is third
in the picture. Use 2 layers of Vilene-type water-soluble stabilizer. For
the decoration, you can use white bobbin thread as it doesn't have to be
two-sided.
Rinse the stabilizer and leave to air dry. Press with steam. Lace with
a satin ribbon. |
|
| To make a small round bowl, you'll have to embroider two panels (either
the first or the third in the picture) and the round bottom, which is in
the fourth row.
Use 2 layers of Vilene-type water-soluble stabilizer; use the same thread
for both the needle and bobbin to get 2-sided embroidery.
Rinse the stabilizer and leave to air dry. Press all parts with steam.
Place one of the panels at the edge of the circle and zigzag over the
edge, aligning the two with your hands. Work slowly. Use invisible thread. |
|
| Using other designs from the set you can make a lot of other attractive
and useful items for your table. Here are some more ideas for you. |
