This machine embroidery design is part of our Freestanding Battenberg Lace collection. It uses the Freestanding Battenberg Lace technique. It will fit the Large hoop (5" x 7").
We used the design as a lace insert on a pillowcase. Embroider the motif as per the enclosed instructions, place it over a blank pillowcase and secure in place with pins. Using a straight stitch, attach the lace to the fabric along the outer edge. Cut away the fabric from under the lace close to the stitch. Return to your sewing machine and using zig-zag (about 1 1/2 long and 2 wide) stitch along the edge of the fabric (work from the wrong side of the pillowcase).
We got the blank linen pillowcase from www.embroiderthis.com
This motif is also good for very special greeting cards. You can read more about how to make such cards in our FSL Battenberg Lace Motifs for Greeting Cards and Scrapbooking.
